Digital eBooks provided by VitalSource

A digital eBook, is a digital version of a book that can be read on a screen using an electronic device. E-books can be accessed on a variety of devices, including computers, tablets, smartphones, and e-readers. They can contain text, images, or both, and are designed to be displayed similarly to a printed book. 

Purchase these automatic e-books when purchasing your course materials.  These eBooks will show as an option to purchase along with any other course materials.  When placing an online order, you will immediately receive an email on how to access your ebook upon checkout.

eBook returns are part of the Bookstore Textbook Returns policy which are allowed within the first five days of the semester.  If you dropped the course, and it is beyond the 14-day returns window, we are unable to refund the eBook.

To access automatic eBooks, please follow these directions:

  • Login to the My Account tab on www.ridgewaterbookstore.com
  • Once logged in, you will see a bullet point list. Click on Activate and Access eBooks
  • You should see each eBook title you have purchased
  • Hover over the book you want to access and click access.
  • Wait a few seconds while it loads (if you double click it, it will assume you already accessed it and won’t load)
  • Once it loads, you now have access to your eBooks
  • If you are having trouble, please contact the eBook provider before contacting the bookstore. They will be able to assist you!

Inclusive Access

Inclusive Access is a digital eBook and/or access code that is delivered through D2L.  If your instructor is using Inclusive Access, you are already enrolled. You will be notified via email prior to the start of class with access instructions using your Ridgewater email address. You will have access to your course materials when you access your D2L for this course on the first day of your class.  For more information, click on the Inclusive Access page.

 

Physical Access Codes

Access codes, like Cengage Unlimited, are codes that are printed on a physical access card. They may have a scratchable code on a card or be in an envelope with a printed access code inside.  These items can be shipped to you, picked up at either bookstore after ordering online, or emailed to you. Please note: if we email you a code, the card will be scratched or envelope opened and you will not be able to return it.

 

Cengage Unlimited

Cengage Unlimited is a subscription for students that gives you access to all Cengage online learning platforms (MindTap, WebAssign, SAM, CNOWv2, OWLv2 and Cengage Infuse), plus the entire library of Cengage eBooks for a one-time, flat price. This is a physical card you will need to pickup, ship, or ask to be emailed to you.  You’ll also get at least 4 FREE textbook rentals (you only pay for shipping & handling). If you were assigned more than one Cengage eBook or online learning platform this semester, a Cengage Unlimited subscription will save you money.

Cengage Unlimited Access Cards are available in 1-semester or 1 year subscriptions.
